Il prototipo Aerovette viene costruito sul telaio della Xp-882 a motore rotativo del 1973, ma stavolta si opta per un buon vecchio e affidabile V8 "small block".

Similar in design to the 1973 Corvette 4-Rotor Concept, the Aerovette had some subtle design differences, like a split grille compared to the one-piece grille on the 4-Rotor, and was also powered by a more conventional smallblock V8. The Aerovette had gullwing doors and plastic front and rear bumpers that blended into the bodywork.
